Since receiving a Master’s degree from Ohio University, I have overseen the implementation of IT Infrastructure and Information Security solutions for organizations ranging from small credit unions to Fortune 500 companies. I currently serve as an IT Director for IGS where I lead a department of 22 individuals with responsibilities including Information Security, DevOps, Network Engineering, Systems Administration, Database Administration, Telecommunications and Technology Support.
I’m very passionate about improving technology education. I have channeled this passion by serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Computer Science department at Franklin University since 2016. At Franklin University, I teach courses that cover Network Engineering, Systems Administration & Information Security. I also volunteer as an Advisory Board Member for Technology Programs at Ohio University, Hocking College & Tiffin University. In my role as Advisory Board Member, I work with University administration and faculty to help align the school’s curriculum with the needs of prospective employers.
I’m also committed to making the communities where I work and live a better place. In an effort to continue this commitment, I have accepted a role as a member of the Board of Trustees at Alvis, Inc. Alvis is a nonprofit human services agency with 50 years of experience providing highly effective treatment programs. Their lines of service include research-based, comprehensive reentry and family support programs; behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services; recovery housing for women and their children; and services to individuals with developmental disabilities who are trying to live more independently in the community. As a member of the Board of Trustees, I serve as an ambassador for the organization, help make governing decisions, and assist in securing the resources and financial support to advance the Alvis mission.
